Dr. Laurey T. Stryker founded Stryker Consulting in 2009. She works with private foundations to develop innovative strategies and programs for all levels of education. Services include research, facilitation, project development, and implementation. She leads The Patterson Foundation’s (TPF) EdExploreSRQ Initiative, which involves facilitation between the Sarasota School District, 34 arts/cultural/science organizations, and consortia to improve alignment between unique community assets and the classroom curriculum; EdExplore 3.0 launched in August 2016.
In addition to her TPF assignment, Dr. Stryker provides initiative management for the C4 College Consortium on the Creative Coast. She previously worked with The Gulf Coast Community Foundation in Venice, Florida, to develop a five-year $2.5 million STEM project for middle and high schools.
Prior to her consultant practice, Dr. Stryker held leadership positions in education. She spent 12 years at the University of South Florida, one of the nation’s largest metropolitan research universities; she was the President of the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus, where she built a new state of the art campus; and she was Florida’s Deputy Commissioner of Education for eight years, where she worked with K–12 and higher education programs.
Dr. Stryker earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Political Science and her Doctor of Education in Higher Education Management from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.
